Due to work programmes, I was at Gopeng for 7 days (plus and minus). Part of the programme was located at the dead town of Gopeng. Except for Tuesdays where the day market will be around the round about.
Probably another hip, new and happening place (no, its not a trance club) will be the museum. The owner of this shoplot/house usually will be away and don't really stay there anymore, so they sorta loan the place to be a museum which is filled with old school stuffs, specifically the jap era.
If you happen to be at that area, do check the place out. Everyone in the town seems to know where and what is it whenever you mention bout 'history' or 'places to visit'. Btw, cheap food around too.
As an added fun fact, there's a huge storage area for pirated discs somewhere in Gopeng. It was busted not long ago. Of course I read this off the newspaper, not that I accidentally discovered it.
