Of Videos And Junkies

For those of you who has no idea what the heck it is, its probably the biggest online phenomenon in year 2006. Functioned as a website which provides online video streaming sourced from users who uploads em'. I'm not that fond or patient to sort out the long mumbo jumbo of their history so you can just search for it in Wikipedia.
"Wiki what?"

...erm...forget it

Anyway, i'm sure all of you out there who uses a keyboard or a mouse will know what's Google rite? Yeah, Youtube is their newest adoption. A couple of billion to buy that child i suppose? Probably cost even more than Madonna's future baby...without facing lawsuits and controversies of course.

HOW YOUTUBE JUNKIES ARE MADE
1.) Not knowing a single clue, all you noticed were those video codecs posted on Friendsters,MySpace,blogs etc. Its those 4X4 black squares with a huge play button on it. Still no idea bout it...till someone is nice enough to label it and says its some music videos. "Oh...i like this song. Wont hurt to click the play button" But all you get was a slow lagging loading red bar without anything else to see. Ok, i do see somethin now. But its still lagging and sounded like a broken record!!!. And a mouse click to the 'X' while makin a mental note not to ever see those videos again

2.) Same incident happened again, where these videos are found everywhere on the net. Still cant be bothered. Till a point where your fren will be forwrding a link of the video on the site. Tempted to see what's so cool or funny bout it. And for once, you made your first step to Youtube.com. This time you wont mind waiting for it to load, as you're rather curious and not knowing what to expect. For most people, watching somethin funny or wacky will worth the waiting, and for some guys, probably they will be expecting some graphically stimulating presentation

3.) "This clip is not bad! Oh...what about this video then?" As you noticed there's more related and similiar videos. After a few homogeneous ones, you got a lil bit tired of it. So you decided to search for some videos on the site which might interest ya.

4.) I'm pretty much assured that the first video you search will be music videos. Doesn't matter what kind or genre, as long its your fav clip/song. This music video watchin will go on for quite sometime, after you're done with all those that you always wanted to watch over and over again on MTV, you're bored again.

5.) "How bout live performances from [insert artist name here]?" Wow!! There's so many of em'!! wee~~ *Jumping with joy*

6.) Now what? I ran out of vids to watch again. Let me click 'Home' and see whatelse I can find there. Okaaayyyyy, there's actually quite alot of other stuffs to check it out. Heck with it, i shall watch it since i'm in no hurry for anything.

7.) Addiction lead you on well...till you discovered the 'All time favourite videos' section. Your whole new world of Youtube opens up. The best of the best videos are there ranged neatly for your viewing!
Oh my goodness....35 million user has viewed this video? I'm soooooo gonna click this.

8.) Within a month, probably you have checkout the top 50 videos or so. You are so darn addicted to it by this point...that after checking your mail,blog and frenster, Youtube will be your next stop. Just to see if there's any new exciting videos pops up

9.) You will be creating an account at this point (or could be earlier tho). Why? Cause you came across some videos which can be only access by regestered users due to violation, adult material or plain gruesome ones. Don't worry, all the videos are family oriented. Probably drinking coke with mentos in mouth wont be a pretty sighting afterall.

10.) "Ratings? Hmm...maybe i just rate it, although i do know that it wont make a difference" And you will start commenting as well. Simple things like 'I like your video', 'Its the best!', 'You're amazing'.

11.) *thinking* Let see, basically you have done everything that's available on Youtube...including posting videos on your blog or personal page. "Maybe I should post a video myself and make a director status"

12.) The journey goes on from here, as i wont know how well you will succeed in becoming a Youtube star. So good luck and keep watchin!
